TV Journalist Ranvir Singh has been honoured today in her home city of Preston. Whilst one inauguration was taking place across the pond, the ITV News anchor and Good Morning Britain presenter was attending her very own.It sees her become chancellor at the University of Central Lancashire ,of which she is an alumni.
Over three hundred and fifty guests attended the ceremony at the University of Central Lancashire this afternoon, including staff and students. Special invitees included Singh’s former BBC North West Tonight colleagues such as Gordon Burns and Annabelle Tiffin. Speaking this afternoon Ranvir said, ‘It feels quite surreal. Lots of friends and family are here and it’s starting to sink in what an amazing honour this is’
David Taylor, who is pro-chancellor and chairman of the University Board said, ‘In Ranvir we have found someone who is successful, someone who can engage with staff and students and someone who has the capacity to inspire. Ranvir is from Preston and a former student of ours; she has an affinity for the university and cares for our heritage and our future’
